Product Information
Collagen is a vital structural protein found in diverse connective tissues like skin, tendons, cartilage, and bone, making up a substantial fraction, roughly 25-30%, of the total proteins in the human body. Within the skin, collagen works in concert with other components, including hyaluronic acid, reticulin, and elastin, to establish a vital framework for diverse types of skin cells, including fibroblasts, keratinocytes, melanocytes, and specialized immune cells. The natural aging process leads to decreased collagen production, resulting in visible signs of aging, such as reduced elasticity and reduced hydration.1
Vitamin C is a cofactor for the synthesis of collagen. Vitamin C prepares two amino acids, lysine and proline, for storage in collagen fibres and binds individual fibres to form connective tissue.2 Vitamin C thus contributes to normal collagen formation for normal skin function.
Manganese enzymes support the formation of collagen (tissue protein).3
OPTAMINS Collagen + Hyaluronic Acid combines 1000 mg collagen hydrolysate with 100 mg hyaluronic acid and essential vitamins and minerals for skin, connective tissue and cell protection. Type I collagen is dominant in OPTAMINS Collagen + Hyaluronic Acid, but small amounts of type III collagen are present.
