Product Information

Ashwagandha (Whitania somnifera) is the flagship herb of Ayurveda that has been used for over 4000 years. KSM-66® Ashwagandha is the most clinically researched and safety ashwagandha root extract on the market today. It is a full-spectrum extract with the highest concentration of bioactives derived from root alone. It is created via aqueous-based without using alcohol or any chemical solvents. Ixoreal is the industry leader in research and clinical trials investigating the effect of ashwagandha, with 50 studies: 32 published studies, 8 additional studies completed and in peer revies, and 10 ongoing studies. KSM-66® Ashwagandha is being evaluated in a long-term safety study (1 year) with 200+ participants in the USA, India, and Italy. Interim analyses demonstrates that no adverse event has been reported.1

The term vitamin B6 covers various vitamin compounds, such as pyridoxine, pyridoxamine and pyridoxal. Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin and is sensitive to light and heat. Vitamin B6 is involved in a number of metabolic processes, including amino acid and carbohydrate metabolism as well as the formation of messenger substances and the B vitamin niacin. Together with vitamin B12, vitamin B6 regulates homocysteine metabolism.2 Vitamin B6 also influences functions of the nervous system, immune defence and haemoglobin synthesis.3

Vitamin B12 is the collective term for a series of compounds with the same biological effect. The compounds consist of a corrin ring system with a cobalt ion in the center. Vitamin B12 is therefore also known as cobalamin. Vitamin B12 acts as a coenzyme in human metabolism. Methylcobalamin is involved in the breakdown of homocysteine to methionine and thus in the regulation of homocysteine concentration in the blood. Folate is also involved in this reaction. Due to the close interaction between vitamin B12 and folate, vitamin B12 is important for cell division and differentiation, e.g. in blood formation and DNA synthesis. Adenosylcobalamin is involved in various degradation and remodelling processes in fat and amino acid metabolism.4

The vitamins B6 and B12 contained in OPTAMINS Ashwagandha + B-Vitamins contribute to a reduction in fatigue and tiredness.
